New definition for biotic relationship

Reported by: rwalls Owned by: pyilmaz
Priority: minor Component: MIxS general
Version: 5.0 Keywords:
Cc: Sensitive: no

The current definition

"Is it free-living or in a host and if the latter what type of relationship is observed (mutualism, commensalism, parasitism)."

asks a yes no question, when in fact the expect value is the type of relationship. I suggest a new definition:

Free text description of relationship(s) between the subject organism and other organism(s) it is associate with. E.g., parasite on species X; mutualist with species Y. The target organism is the subject of the relationship, and the other organism(s) is the object.
